Having a 12 year old who loves to be online and an 8 year old who can’t wait until he has a cell phone, I know about the issues that kids face today when it comes to mobile phones: bullying, privacy, over-usage, texting with photos, and more. AT&T has made a commitment to be a leader in providing education, resources, and tools to help families better manage mobile safety.

Mobile-safety-school-AT&T

In a couple of weeks, AT&T is holding a virtual Mobile Safety School session that I’ll be attending. They are giving you the chance to attend, as well.

If you are interested in learning more, AT&T is offering the opportunity to one of my readers to attend a virtual Mobile Safety School session – along with a $50 VISA gift card!

The virtual Mobile Safety School schedule is as follows:

Oct. 23 at 1p ET – mobile safety for kids 8-11
Oct. 24 at 1p ET – mobile safety for kids 12-14
Oct. 25 at 1p ET – mobile safety for kids 15-17

I’ll be attending the Oct 23 and Oct 24th sessions.

To enter this giveaway:

1. Please leave a comment telling me what mobile safety issues you are concerned about. For me, I am considering disabling the photo messaging on Michael’s phone. I have seen first hand what middle school students do with photos on their cell phones and would like to stop this issue in our house before it even begins.

For a second entry:

2. Please let me know in the comments section which session you would like to attend.

To stay up to date with Our Crazy Boys on facebook, click here and “like” us!

This giveaway will end on Thursday, October 18th at midnight, and I will choose a winner by Friday, October 19.

Good luck!

I was compensated for my participation in the AT&T Mobile Safety School campaign. AT&T is providing one of my readers with a $50 gift card and a spot in one of their virtual Mobile Safety School session. As always, I will never share something with you that I don’t believe in.

Such an important topic! I have plenty of concerns as I have boys in all three of those categories! I’ve always disabled pic messages for the same reason you are considering. They’ve never had it and they dont even miss it. With one son on the brink of driving, Im very concerned with texting and driving.

I am most concerned about texting while driving. So many people already have lapses in attention while driving due to other people talking to them, listening to music, and even applying makeup while driving, but I think that typing on a small keypad that requires two hands is the most dangerous. I think phones should be turned off or to vibrate while driving.

I was just talking about something along these lines yesterday. Texting while driving really bothers me–I’ve seen quite a few close calls because of it. I wish there was some way to disable texting and web/email browsing while in the car. It would have to be something in the car though, that was automatic, because to rely on people to enable something themselves… well, we can’t rely on people to keep their hands off their phone as it is.
