Please excuse my late post this week.
To make up for it, I’ll tell you a story about my afternoon.
I came home to Michael, who has now caught the stomach bug that I have had since Tuesday.
Then I went outside with Jack, who wanted to practice his bike riding skills.
While outside with some of the neighbors and their kids, we watched this girl zoom (yes, zoom) by in her car. I went to the end of the driveway to give her the universal “SLOW DOWN” sign, and she shook. her. head. at. me.
*this is me. fuming.*
As that girl left my neighborhood, do you know what she did?
She stepped on the gas and gunned it as she neared my house, then sped by the 4 children ages 1-5 in the driveway.
Oh yes she did.
So, we walked down to talk to the people that she was visiting.
On the way back from that, my neighbor tripped on an uneven sidewalk and fell.
She banged her arm up pretty good.
And dropped. her. baby.
Everyone is ok.
Well, us Moms are a bit frazzled.
But the baby is fine.
Cute as ever.
We got home, I fed the kids, and told Jack to get in the bath.
In pure Jack fashion, he fell and hit his head on the toilet.
Resulting in a marble-sized bump on the back of his head.
The bump is the size of the big marble in the game. Not the small ones.
As I texted all of this to my SIL to apologize for not calling her back, I thought, “this is a blog post if there ever were one.”
So anyway.
Am I forgiven for being late to the picture party?

This week, Mom could be spotted at a picnic.
With a handsome boy.
On a towel (he was very specific about the towel).
In the garage.
Yes. You’re looking at my garage floor.
My husband is screaming right now because no one is supposed to see his garage in such a state.
{Sorry, Steve}
But it was fun.
Picnicking in the garage.
Eating peanut butter and jelly.
With my soon to be kindergartener.

Oh my gosh! Did you find out who that girl-driver was???? I would have called the cops! And how absolutely evil of her to floor it past your house! >:-( What an awful day you had… so many almost disasters!!! Thank God they were all “almost” disasters. Hope you have a really wonderful weekend! Love you guys!
Aww, sorry you had a bad day/week. I would have pounded that girl into the desert floor where she belongs (you know, if I didn’t have a fear of confrontation!)
Your picnic sure looks cute. I might have to do that with John tomorrow! He’ll love it. Except, I think I just heard him sigh. From my bedroom. Grrr.

OKK, Where is SHE? Where is SHE? I’m gonna beat her up, beat her up I say. BEAT HER UP!!!
(Can you tell I was trying to be the lion in the Wizard of OZ?)
Put a box full of Steve’s nails (and don’t tell me he doesn’t have any) in front of your house today (just warn the nice neighbors)Because you know she will be back again just to be a little teenage witch. HEY, they had witches in the Wizard of Oz too! :-)
Sorry you had such a horrible afternoon/evening! Hope Michael’s feeling better soon! Hope Jack’s OK! Hope you have a better day today. I’m with Teetsie…it’s a good thing I’m not there, or that insipid little brat would be treated to some driving lessons!! I hope the nieghbors she’s staying with take care of it, or, like Teetsie, I’d call the cops!! B*@%$!!!!!! Love you :-)
Becca,
I’m sory about your crazy day but I have to say it made for a GREAT post. I love the garage. I had to show it to Joe because I told him I want our Garage floor to be that clean. (thanks Steve!)
Hope you are all feeling better after the tummy bug.
P.S. No worries on the WP email. When you have time. :)

Ok, First of all, Grandma Teetsie is cracking me up!
Second, what happened at the house she was visiting when you went there?!?
Third, sounds like a really rough week, and that sucks. I’m SO glad that the baby is ok – they do bounce, don’t they? And, that you had a lovely picnic with your BIG little boy. Looks like fun.
Finally, remind me to never invite you over to see our garage. Though, I blame my husband completely, and openly, about it. So, on second thought please do come over, bring the picture of your “messy” garage, and we can drink wine and blame him together so he knows it’s not just me, Kay?!?

You’re a great Mom Becca… after all of this, you still had time have a picnic!
Oh no, what a day. Don’t you just hate days like that. well, it’s over now right. Great picture of you and your {gulp} soon to be Kindergartner, how to kids grow up so fast. Cute pic.

Oh sure you can act fast enough to get a picture of me jumping into my unmaned rolling down the hill Jeep, but you couldn’t get her licence plate? :) Oh well, get her next time. Hope today is better!
OMGosh what a rough day!!!! (((HUGS)))

Chelsea’s right! I think you should bring a picture of your garage to compare with her. Heck, I’ll do the same thing and then I will laugh in my evil voice.
What IS the universal sign for “slow-down”? I need it desperately in my neighborhood. All I can do is shake my fist in disgust.
Bummer of a week; the next will be better!

What a day! I hate when my kids get bumps on their heads, but it happens.
I think I would call the cops too like Grandma Dawn says… Such people should be given a lesson. Obviously there’s something wrong with that girl.

It always amazes (and terrifies) me how fast people drive in neighborhoods where small children are obviously playing. And the crazy thing is that a lot of those drivers are PARENTS!
