Taking advantage of mindless blog fodder

December 20, 2009

I am having one of those nights where I want to blog, but there’s just nothing “there.”

I could tell you all about our game night Friday, when Darcie and her peeps came over for dinner and games.

I could tell you about pizza dough that didn’t rise,

soggy but delicious chicken fajita pizza (too much cheese?),

playing practical jokes on my 5 year-old,

that same 5 year-old chasing poor Jayce around the house with a Scream mask on,

late night walks to wake up the neighbors and find street-walkers (you know, people who walk on the street. What were you thinking!?),

3 too many margaritas,

and getting cut off from playing Taboo… But I’ll save that.

I think I’m still a bit hungover.

Instead, I decided that Nell had a wonderful idea this week. She made up her own meme. I thought I would play along.

I promise that soon, my kids will do something blog-worthy and I’ll have a hilarious story to share with you (if I have the nerve, I might share the practical joke I played on Jack. If anyone from CPS reads this blog, you might want to skip it for the next few days), but for now…

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

A whole bunch of Christmas music. Frank Sinatra, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Burl Ives,Gene Autry, and Dean Martin.

What Are You Watching Right Now?

Football. I don’t want to be watching it, but I want to be hanging out with my hubby. So… lots of football. And Modern Family. Has everyone seen that show? I hope so, because that is my ab workout as of late. Laughing until I cry at Modern Family.

What Room Is Your Computer In?

The desktop is in the den, which is currently occupied by Christmas junk presents and boxes and wrapping paper. Hence, the sign on the door.

I’m quite an artist.

You can admit it.

CIMG3609

My laptop is usually in my work bag, but usually makes an appearance on the couch on the weekends. Sometimes, it lands in the kitchen when I need to follow a recipe. And every once in a while, I’ll sit on the bathroom counter with it while the boys are taking baths.

Do You Have Christmas Lights Up Outside?

My amazing husband decorated our trees and bushes with lights last week, and plugged in our blow-up Frosty. Our house style doesn’t really allow for lights to be hung (unless we would like to redo the stucco every year) so this is the best it’s gonna get.

How Long Have You Been Blogging?

Since January of 2009. Total newbie.

If You Could Go Back In Time, Where Would You Go, Who Would You Meet, Why?

Wow. That’s a hard one. I think I would like to go back to when my Grandma Scheriff was a little girl. She always had great stories about growing up in New York City… I would love to experience them firsthand.

If You Could Be Paid To Give Of Your Time To Others, What Would You Most Like To Do? (Volunteering)

I would love to work with kids. Teaching them to read, helping with homework. So many kids don’t have someone to sit with them and boost their confidence with schoolwork. I would love to do that.

If Santa Could Bring YOU Something This Year, What Would That Special Something Be?

I think I’ll steal Nell’s answer on this one. If I couldn’t give the wish away, I would love for Santa to pay off my mortgage. I don’t need anything, and it would be wonderful to put that money somewhere else each month.

(The Kitchenaid mixer that is under my tree probably would have been my answer if I hadn’t known about it :-)

If You Could Have Your Blog Readers Know One Thing About You. What Would That Be?

That I am thankful for each and every one of their visits to my blog and their comments. Every time my phone beeps with an e-mail, my heart jumps a little because I know that someone took the time to read and comment on my blog.

Tag… You’re it!

A few of my favorite blogs that Nell didn’t tag:

Jen

Julie

Kellie

Oh, does anyone have any tips for me about an easy way to make larger spaces in between my lines?  I put them in, but as soon as I hit “publish” they go away…  The ones in this post were made with the editor, and it’s not long before I mess something up in there.

What a great way to get to know things about you. And your life. Love the cross boned head – we used to do that so Gramma Scheriff would stop smoking but the cross bones were the cigarettes telling her they would be the death of her. She did quit then picked up chewing on chunks of ice then went to chewing Trident gum. We all have our vices. Anyway, take two aspirin, go to bed and get rid of the hangover – cause you will have many more next week when Neely, Sean, and I get out there. Love You Well, Dad and Callie will be there too but the chocolate shots are for US.

You ARE an artist. :) I have these “nothing up there” days all the time lately. So frustrating.

I told Henry that if I could ask Santa for anything, I’d ask him for quiet. Some quiet and no fighting. I have a feeling ol’ Santa’s gonna skip me this year. ;)

Becca,

I too have those moments where I’m like, ” I want to blog, but what to say???”

Have I told you lately that I love your blog? I do :) I’m going to steal this since I am at work and cannot access the pictures from Luke’s first birthday and do all the “intended blogging” that has been occupying (sp?)my mind lately.

P.S. I got your card and it’s WONDERFUL. Great picture!

Merry Christmas my friend Becca. I’m so glad you became a newbie blogger. :)

Too much cheese?! On pizza? No such thing.

You’re going to give people the wrong idea of your neighborhood, what with the street-walker remark and all…

We had fun. Jeff would be happy to cut you off from Taboo anytime.

Isn’t it amazing how 1 tiny, little comment can make a blogger so unbelievably happy? I have that same experience all of the time. :)
