I’m not one to hand someone a camera and ask for a picture.
Just this week I was reminded of the fact that after 4 weeks, I still haven’t brought a family picture to Jack’s preschool classroom for his “family wall.”
Oops.
It’s not that I don’t take pictures. I take about 25 pictures a week. 12 ½ of Jack and 12 ½ of Michael. And me? I’m right behind that camera for everything they do. Cute, funny, and naughty… I’m behind the camera.
Today I brought a picture of Michael and Jack on the first day of school for Jack’s “family wall.” Hey! Michael counts as family, right? I know that’s not what they meant, but it’s hard to get the WHOLE family in a picture! The last one we have is from Christmas, and it wasn’t meant to be put on a bulletin board. I have one of Jack, Michael, and Steve, but I didn’t want to be the only one not in the picture. Hence, you have the brother picture.
The picture on my About Me page? It took 2 weeks and about 30 tries… and I still don’t like it. But will my kids care that the wind was blowing my hair like I had a “fashion model fan” in front of my face? Will they care that I looked like I was squinting because the sun was so bright? No, they’ll just like to see a picture of their Mom.
So, for them, I am committing to the 52 week challenge. Every week for 52 weeks, I will step in front of the camera. I take my camera EVERYWHERE. There’s really no excuse to NOT take a picture every week. Because when I am old and wrinkly (or old and Botoxed) I want my kids to remember who was holding the camera all that time.

Thank you, Forever in Blue Jeans, for this challenge!

I am so glad you are in for the challenge! Looks like you are having a fun time at DQ, a great summer treat. Great memories!
Good for you, joining the challenge fun! As much as I hate my picture taken, this has been an awesome reminder, and it gets easier all the time!
I absolutely LOVE this picture. Bring us more.
What a great challenge for yourself!
And look how beautiful you are.
I bet you’ll look back and be SO glad that you have that photo.
YOU, Miss Becca, will NEVER be old – because that would mean I would be older and wrinklier (is that even a word?) But I have to say this is one of my favorite pics of you. You go Girl – take the challenge and run with it.
Such a cute photo! I’m glad you joined the challenge. For all the reasons you listed and more, it’s worth it…even if we look wind-blown or tired.
You make it look easy!!
That is a great challenge! I need to work on that too, I am in NO pictures…ever. lol
I like this. :)
